Olufunso Adegbola, BA, MSc :: SCHAF Adviser

Mrs Olufunso Adegbola, Adviser, SCHAFOLUFUNSO ADEGBOLA (nee IGE).
Born in Ibadan, Nigeria to Chief Bola Ige SAN and Hon. Justice Tinuke IGE JCA, OFR (both of blessed memory). Had her primary school education at Eleyele Private School, Ibadan and secondary school at St Anne’s School, Molete, Ibadan 1970-1975. She proceeded to Westonbirt School, in Gloucestershire, England for her ‘O’ and ‘A’-Levels. From 1979 to 1983, she was at Essex University studying Modern Languages and Linguistics, specializing in French and Spanish. She proceeded to Bristol University for a second degree in Law, from 1983 to 1986. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987. She served her NYSC year, in the Chambers of Ademola, Ajakaiye and Co in Ibadan. From 1988 to 1994, she worked in her father’s chambers, Bola Ige and Co. in the Ibadan Head Office.

In November 1994, she founded The Vale College, a private, co-educational, Christian and value-based secondary school in Ibadan, Oyo State. She later expanded by establishing The Vale Tutorial College, a sixth form college specializing in the Advanced Levels, Cambridge board curriculum.

​She is passionate about personal development, women and youth issues. She is the Chairperson of Ibadan Home for Motherless Babies; President of the Alliance Francaise, Ibadan, Member of FIDA, Federation of Women Lawyers, Oyo State; Trustee of APEN, Association of Private Educators in Nigeria and APPSS, Association of Proprietors of Private Secondary Schools, Oyo State; Member Educare Trust and University of Ibadan’s Advancement Centre. She is also a founding member of WIMBIZ Women in Management and Business and a Life Member of FGBMFI, Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International. She speaks English, French, Spanish and Yoruba fluently.

She has attended many courses and conferences in law, education and business management, both at home and abroad, including the Lagos Business School and Harvard Business School.
Her interests are travelling, reading, public speaking and writing. She is the author of ‘He gave me wings’ published by Bookbuilders in 2005. She is happily married to Mr. Gbenro ADEGBOLA, a publisher and the Managing Director of First Veritas Publishers. They are blessed with two wonderful children, a son and a daughter.

I am passionate about Women and Youth issues. To this end, I will like to be a part of SCHAF by being an advocate in the control of SCD, creating awareness among our youths, especially secondary school and University students at home and abroad.
